Printing California Lien Sale Forms in FoxTow
Which lien packet to print for vehicles valued $300–$4,000 or over $4,000, what each form is for, and how to print or reprint them in FoxTow.
A California lien sale needs the right paperwork, and that paperwork depends on the vehicle's value. FoxTow has two form packets, one for vehicles valued from $300 to $4,000 and one for vehicles over $4,000. This guide shows which packet to use, what each form does and how to print it.
Pick the right packet
$300 to $4,000: click Liens → Print CA Forms ($300–$4000).
Over $4,000: click Liens → Print CA Forms (Over $4000).
Both screens work the same way. Only the list of forms is different.
How to print the forms
Click Liens in the left navigation menu and open the packet that matches the vehicle's value.
Under New Forms Info, enter the New Mailing Date and the New Sale Date.
On the right, choose the form type, such as New Form Print or Reprint.
Enter the DMV Certified Mail Receipt #, if it applies.
Select the documents you want to generate (see the lists below).
Optional: enter the Number of 668s ($300–$4,000 packet) or use Extra copies (over $4,000 packet).
Choose the output, View on Screen or Printer. Click Cancel to leave without printing.
Tip: Choose View on Screen first to check names, addresses and dates, then print.
Forms in the $300–$4,000 packet
Notice of Pending Lien Sale: tells the owner and interested parties that a lien sale is pending.
Notice of Pending Lien Sale (Duplex): a duplex print version of the same notice.
Certification of Lien Sale: the official certification for the lien sale.
Notice of Removal and Billing: shows the vehicle removal and related charges.
New Bill of Sale (Reg 262): the bill of sale used to transfer the vehicle.
Release of Liability: releases responsibility after the transfer or sale.
Vehicle Registration Report: the vehicle's registration information.
Lien-Pack Cover Sheet: the cover page for the document packet.
Mailing Labels: printable labels for each recipient.
Packet Print: prints the complete packet in one go.
Forms in the over-$4,000 packet
Application for Authorization (Reg 656): the DMV authorization application for the lien sale.
Notice of Pending Lien Sale (Reg 280): the official DMV notice that a lien sale is pending.
Certification of Lien Sale (Reg 168): confirms the lien sale requirements were met.
New Bill of Sale (Reg 262): the DMV bill of sale for the transfer.
Notice of Removal and Billing: shows the vehicle removal and related charges.
Release of Liability: releases responsibility after the transfer or sale.
Vehicle Registration Report: the vehicle's registration details.
Lien-Pack Cover Sheet: the cover page for the document packet.

Before you mail anything
The mailing date and sale date are correct.
Owner, legal owner and interested party names and addresses match the lien record.
The certified mail receipt number is entered, if required.
You printed the packet that matches the vehicle's value.
